The American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) is a non-profit professional association designated as a Standards Development Organization (SDO) by the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. It was created in 2008 by leading U.S. education executives. It’s the only relevant educational membership organization devoted completely to foreign student recruiting challenges.
Via the advancement of legitimate, standards-based international recruiting tactics, AIRC was founded to protect the interests of both foreign students and enrolling schools. Members of AIRC collaborate to develop exacting quality for international student recruitment in the United States.

A Certification Commission oversees AIRC Certification; its participants were chosen by the AIRC Board of Directors from among the organizational affiliates and affiliated groups.
After evaluating all pertinent materials related to an agency’s proposal for certification, including but not limited to: the letter of purpose, entry form, due diligence report, third party corroboration, the self-evaluation report, and the independent review report, it is the Certification Commission’s prime objective to ascertain the Certification position of an applying recruitment representative.
Goals of AIRC, USA
Develop ethical practice standards for foreign student recruitment to American academic institutions, with such standards addressing two interests: academic institutions and student recruitment brokers.
- Create best practices and training to help foreign student recruitment brokers and institutions better serve students wishing to apply to American educational institutions.
- Set a basis for participating agencies to get their practices certified. In addition, the organization may engage in additional activities as needed to achieve its objectives.
Now, with that being said, The American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) has certified Study Square for the year 2020-2030.
